A Stir Within Me

It is interesting to me that Christianity has been degraded to a form of religion. Religion is defined as “the belief in and worship of a superhuman controlling power, esp. a personal God or gods; a particular system of faith and worship; a pursuit or interest to which someone ascribes supreme importance” and that is not the point of Christianity. Even in scripture, Jesus states that not all who cry HIS name will see the Kingdom. The average person will use religion in order to enhance their life and advance in personal prospering, to serve their own self. To ensure a happy, stress-free, comfortable and secure life on this TEMPORARY earth whereas, Christianity requires the denial of oneself and the serving of others; to give every ounce of us in loving and serving others without ceasing or expectancy. Christianity assures that the reward is in Heaven not this earth. To be a Christian DOES NOT mean you simply believe in GOD, it means you are a Follower of Christ Jesus (want to see what that look likes-- Read the gospel and pay close attention to the 12 disciples and the apostles). So I ask you, are you living this life for yourself, or are you taking up your own cross daily to Follow Jesus (Luke 9:23)? Or better yet, do you think and act as if the point of receiving The Holy Spirit is to give a show at church and NOT continuing HIS work here on earth?
